How Rude!

So in my last post I talked a little about my pregnancy pet peeves. If you read the post you know that my pet peeve is people making stupid comments about how my face is filling out or how I waddle now. When I told my mom the comments people where making she laughed and then told me I should write them down. So here's one I got from a male co-worker yesterday that I thought I would share.

Co-worker: How much longer do you have?
Me: about 5 weeks
Co-worker: Oh, my wife never got fat like you.
Me: you mean big?
Co-worker: Call it whatever you want.

In his defense his wife never went full term with either one of their kids but still, you don't tell someone they're fat!! I wanted to throat punch him. Instead I just glared at him and walked away.

35/35

Today is my 35/35! Which means that I'm at week 35 and have 35 more days until Isabelle's Due Date. I thought I would talk about all kinds of different pregnancy things.

What's the best thing about being pregnant? Hands down the best thing about being pregnant is feeling her move all around. Some days she goes crazy in there and its so fun to watch my stomach move.

what's the worst? All the pains. I had pretty bad sciatic pain since about week 12 that I've been seeing a chiropractor for. That pain is much better now but its been replaced by swelling hands and feet and some joint pain.

what's some of the crazy things you've heard about being pregnant? I find all the old wives tells to be pretty amusing. I don't think I've found one of them to be true thus far.

what's you're biggest pet peeve while pregnant? People say the weirdest things to pregnant women thinking its a compliment. Just the other day a lady who used to work with me came in and when she saw i was pregnant she said "Oh I thought you might be pregnant, your face has filled out." Not a compliment! Also, pregnant or not, no woman wants to hear "oh your waddling." I wanted to hit a guy at work who told me to "waddle faster" so I could get to the phone that was ringing. grrr.......

what didn't you expect about being pregnant? I kind of feel like there are all these "things" you don't find out until you're pregnant. Like how breastfeeding doesn't come natural for most babies and all sorts of "neat" information about giving birth. These are the kinds of things that people should know before they get pregnant but no one tells them until its to late. It all makes prefect sense, if I knew some of the information I know now I might have second guessed ever getting pregnant but dont worry I've heard a thousand times how its all "worth it in the end" and guess what I believe you!

What has surprised you about being pregnant? I have to say when people first found out I was pregnant they kept telling me "just wait until a stranger touches your belly." I don't think I've had one stranger touch me. Either people are getting better manners or I must walk around looking like I'm going to hit someone all the time because no stranger has ever attempted to touch me.
I think I'm also surprised/amazed at how my body works. Its the coolest thing to know that my body is set up to house this little baby. I'm amazing at how many things take place in a woman's body just to have the baby in there.

Well I honestly cant believe how fast time is going by. Everyone keeps asking if I'm done being pregnant and to be honest I'm really not ready yet. I'm going to miss feeling her move inside me and knowing that she's safe and with me 24/7. On the other hand, I cant wait to hold her and see what she looks like. I can't wait to share her with everyone either. I think after the holidays we'll be ready for her to come, I just need a few more weeks to finish up some odds and ends. 35 more days.. wow that seems close.

Baby Shower & 32 week Quiz

(Sorry I don't know how to turn the picture)
Last Wednesday, November 18th, My Mom, Sisters, Mother in Law, and Sister in Law threw me a baby shower! I was surprised at how many people came. It was so much fun seeing everyone, and opening all the gifts. Truly it was amazing to see how much our baby is loved before she even gets here. I'm so grateful for everyone who showed up to support us. I do have to say that I think the baby will be dressed quite well, at least until she's out grown all her 3 month clothing. :) Thank you everyone who helped with the baby shower. I know it was time consuming and probably a hassle but Jason and I appreciated all the effort put into it! I Hate Rules!!

We found a couple of weeks ago that the hospitals have changed there policy about visitors. They now will only allow 2 visitors at a time in your hospital room and Jason counts as a visitor. This rule sucks!!
I know that the rule is in affect to stop the spread of H1N1 to hospital patients but still...it sucks. I think i would be fine with the rule if Jason didn't count as a visitor. Since he does count that means only one other person can come into the room at a time. I really hope the hospital rethinks this policy before I have our little girl. I was looking forward to everyone coming and seeing her once she gets here. I guess if they don't change the rule, we'll just have to throw a "Coming Home" party for her so she can meet everyone.
Stupid H1N1!!!

The Painting is over

Jason and I spent all weekend and tonight painting the nursery. It took us forever to tape off the stripes that we painted on 3 walls. Now all we have to do is put up the bead board and decorate. Here are a few pictures of the nursery so far.

Happy 3 years to us!

Jason & I celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday. I can't believe we have been married for 3 years already, time just flies by. Yesterday I thought about all the crazy things our wedding day held for us. Like Jason being sick in the sealing room and Aaron having to go get him Juice, the guy who was sealing us couldn't remember Jason's name and kept calling him Jeremy, Then the reception where only half the food showed up, we were missing a bridesmaid bouquet and we were still trying to finish taking pictures when the guest showed up. As many things went wrong that day there were also a lot of things that were perfect. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and I was sealed to my best friend.
I'm grateful to have such a wonderful husband who truly treats me like a queen. He's going to make such a wonderful Father!!

Baby Furniture

I'm happy to say that this weekend has been just what i needed. I don't feel to overly stressed anymore. I was finally able to ask my work about going part time and although my boss said she didn't think it would be an issue she has to take it up the chain. So here's hoping the big bosses approve it! There's one thing to check off the list.

OK, the really exciting thing that happened to me yesterday....I bought the baby furniture. USA Baby was having a sale of up to 70% off. I wanted to get there really early so I could get in on all the good deals before they were gone. I got there 10 minutes after they opened and 3 crib sets were all ready sold!!! Lucky for me I found a beautiful set that was over 70% off. It came with the crib and rails to turn it into a toddler bed, a 6 drawer dresser, a 2 piece hutch, and a night stand. When I saw the price I couldn't pass up the deal. All that furniture retailed for $3000 and was marked down to $860.00. Lucky for us Jason's parents offered to pay half as our Christmas present. So I only had to pay just over $400 for all that furniture. It was a steal!!! I'm completely in love with the furniture, its just what i wanted. Plus it's one more thing that I can cross off my list of things-to-do. Now I just need to talk Jason into painting the nursery and putting up bead board. Hopefully we can start that next weekend, ha ha wishful thinking.
